Crea Video Lyrics

Take a MIDI file and turn it into lifelike sound. Improve your backing track without a DAW, then add synchronised lyrics and create your karaoke video.

Take a MIDI file and turn it into lifelike sound. Go beyond simply playing a backing track: instrument-specific performance corrections and audio processing help you get more from your MIDI, without building an effects chain in a DAW (digital audio workstation). The sound is generated by software synthesis using your chosen SoundFonts: the program does not record a new performance by musicians.

At the heart of Crea Video Lyrics is improving the backing track before creating the video: first it works on MIDI notes and expression, then on the sound produced by the synthesiser. Two distinct layers help make the performance more convincing and shape the mix. All in a desktop application for Windows, Intel macOS and Linux.

All features are included, from €3.95 per month, €29.95 per year or €59.95 one-time with 5 years of updates, taxes included, with a 30-day free trial. The bundle with olw-player starts at €6.99 per month (€49.95 per year, €79.95 for 5 years) and includes all features in both programs and the same free trial.

Hear the difference: before and after Crea Video Lyrics

The promotional video includes a before-and-after comparison of processing with Crea Video Lyrics: a concrete example of how the software works on a backing track, from performance to sound.

MIDI that no longer sounds like MIDI

More than conversion: first the performance, then the sound. A MIDI file may contain guitars, brass or strings played like a keyboard, with bends, sustain or expression that do not suit the instrument. Crea Video Lyrics applies instrument-family corrections while preparing the audio: legato, articulation, vibrato, overlapping notes and dynamics. Corrections are selectable and work on a copy: the original MIDI stays intact.

Realistic guitars and bass

Fast passages played legato like a guitarist rather than plucking every note again, no keyboard-style clusters, chords that start cleanly rather than sliding or dropping, no sustain pedal and bends that reach the right note.

Brass that breathes

Legato phrasing, volume that does not drop on every note, saxophone-style vibrato rather than keyboard vibrato, and brass sections that no longer all drop together.

The whole song, automatically

Strings, voices and pads with natural expression, repeated notes that do not cut off suddenly, doubling without excessive build-up, pianos at matching levels and consistent final volume.

Style Selection gives your song a new outfit in one click: acoustic Ballad, Pop, slow Blues, shuffle Blues or Rock blues, with arrangement, performance and production sound tuned to real recordings. All details in the full guide.

An audio chain, not just different sounds

After MIDI corrections, the synthesiser generates audio. This is where the second layer starts: a mix-processing chain to control tone, space and dynamics before saving the MP3 or WAV backing track. Preview the result and choose settings that suit the song.

Tone and presence

Equalisation, bass and treble adjustments and the Presence option help rebalance the mix. Valve warmth and multiband bass processing are also available, ready to enable when needed.

Measured level and dynamics

The program measures perceived loudness and peaks to manage the final level. The “Mix glue” compressor and peak control help contain level swings; choose whether to use them so you do not unnecessarily sacrifice dynamics.

Stereo and space

Adjust stereo width and use convolution reverb with impulse responses (IR) captured from real spaces to give instruments room. The amount of ambience and the width of the mix remain listening choices.

Style Selection: production follows the song too

The Production layer in Style Selection uses measured profiles of frequency balance, stereo and dynamics: it analyses the mix generated with your engine and SoundFont, then calculates EQ, stereo width and compression to approach the chosen genre's ranges. It does not apply the same filter to every song: it acts where measurements fall outside the profile, with adjustable intensity. This audio processing runs on your computer and does not require a cloud AI service.

The result starts with your source material. The original MIDI, SoundFont, engine and settings all affect the final sound. You do not need every effect enabled: presence or compression can reduce naturalness in an acoustic song. Compare previews with and without processing and keep what actually improves your song.

The complete workflow: MIDI → corrections and synthesis → audio processing → MP3/WAV. Then use Syncro Lyrics and Crea Video to synchronise lyrics and export MP4 video. Crea Video Lyrics prepares and saves the backing track; for live playing and singing, see olw-player.

Better sound, built together

Use Crea Video Lyrics or olw-player? Help us improve MIDI playback by sharing a real example. On ita.demicons.it you can submit your file, describe the problem and continue the conversation in a private space.

From MIDI to karaoke video, in your key

The complete workflow, all with your own files. Start from a MIDI or KAR file, improve it with Crea Video Lyrics, synchronise the lyrics and get a karaoke MP4 video of your own. Then play it live with olw-player, which plays videos and changes the key without changing the speed.

  1. Improve the backing track with Midi to Mp3: performance corrections and audio processing. Here you already choose the right key for the singer, from -24 to +24 semitones.
  2. Synchronise the lyrics with Syncro Lyrics: press the space bar at the start of each line.
  3. Create the video with Crea Video: audio, lyrics and background image become an MP4.
  4. Play it with olw-player: playlist, lyrics on a second screen and, to fine-tune the pitch during the evening, -3 to +3 semitones on videos.

How to get it

  1. Download the version for your operating system from the download repository.
  2. Try all features free for 30 days.
  3. To continue, choose a plan and order online to receive the key to enter in the program (the bundle too). If you prefer a license by email, write to demiconsultingx@gmail.com.
  4. When you receive the licence file, save it directly in your computer's home folder, not in a subfolder.

The software now behaves consistently across operating systems: the same user experience everywhere. Change notes will always be available here.

Installation

Linux (AppImage)

We chose AppImage to make installation simple and distribution-independent. Download it, put it wherever you like in your home folder and make it executable: in the file manager, right-click the application, find an option such as "Make executable" in its properties, enable it and double-click the application. The file includes its own libraries, which do not conflict with yours: it works much like a Mac application.

Mac (dmg)

DMG installer tested on macOS Tahoe, Intel 64-bit only.

To get past Apple's block on applications from outside the store, open Terminal after installation and paste:

sudo xattr -cr /Applications/CreaVideoLyrics.app

Enter your user password and press Return: the application will now open normally.

Windows (x86/64)

Installer for Windows x86/64. Tested on Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Quick start guide

Full help is available inside the application. Right-click a blank area of any window to open the help menu. Help pages always match the features in your installed version.

Since version 4, Crea Video Lyrics has been organised into three modules, used in sequence for each song. Each opens in its own window and you can keep several open: for example, synchronise the lyrics of one song while generating audio for another. At startup the application checks its licence and tells you if an update is available. You can also open a MIDI file directly by double-clicking it or using "Open with".

1. Midi to Mp3

From MIDI/KAR files to MP3/WAV audio, with realistic sounds and extensive adjustments.

2. Syncro Lyrics

Synchronise lyrics to audio by ear using the space bar.

3. Crea Video

Audio, synchronised lyrics and a background image become a ready-to-sing MP4 video.

1. Midi to Mp3: from MIDI to audio

  • Synthesis engines: FluidSynth with SoundFont (.sf2) or HigherQuality (.sfz), with a more refined tone, ideal for final export.
  • Song adjustments: key from -24 to +24 semitones, drum intensity, overall volume and up to two muted channels (for example, the guide melody).
  • Channel grid: a different sound for each of the 16 channels, with volume (0–200%), octave and mute per channel. Settings can apply to all songs or only the loaded song.
  • Real reverb: acoustic "fingerprints" of real spaces (hall, church, studio…) rather than synthetic reverb.
  • Preview: listen to the result before generating the file, with ±30-second skips, including individual channels.
  • Options panel: humanisation, mastering, piano bounce reduction, chorus, stereo widening, bass and treble boost, string backing, plus genre presets (Dance / Disco / Funk, Slow / Ballad / Jazz, Pop, Blues, Rock blues) that configure everything in one click.
  • Automatic MIDI corrections: guitars, bass, brass, strings, pads and accordion sound like real instruments rather than a keyboard imitating them (see above); each family can be enabled or disabled through Family corrections. The original MIDI is never changed.
  • Export corrected MIDI: save a corrected, humanised copy for arranger keyboards and sound modules too; optionally export a karaoke version without the muted channels.

Arrangement: Style Selection

  • Style Selection: transform a song into a gentle acoustic Ballad, fast Pop, slow Blues, shuffle Blues or Rock blues, with three independently switchable layers: arrangement (which instruments play), performance (dynamics and chorus crescendos) and production (the final sound, tuned to real recordings in that genre). It creates a new version: the original remains intact and vocal parts are never changed.

2. Syncro Lyrics: lyrics in time

  • Load the MP3 and lyrics, with one line per verse. If the same folder contains a .txt file with the same name as the MP3, it loads automatically.
  • Press Play, then the space bar at the start of each line: the program records the timings and advances the lyrics automatically.
  • Made a mistake? Click the line: playback restarts there and you can resume synchronising without starting over.
  • Export as SRT, the video format, or LRC for compatible music players.

3. Crea Video: the final video

  • Choose the MP3: the .srt file with the same name is suggested automatically. Then choose the background image.
  • Choose the lyric font. The default is Impact on Windows, Helvetica on macOS and FreeSans on Linux, at size 32; we recommend a size between 24 and 40.
  • Press Crea Video: the MP4 is saved in the audio folder, with a progress bar. A lightweight background image (within about 150 KB) keeps the video small and generation fast.
